Holi in Himachal Pradesh on the bank of Yamuna


Most awaited festival in India that fills the life of an individual with loads of colours and happiness. Holi is basically a North Indian festival that is being celebrated in all over the world where Indian community resides.



In India, different states celebrate it in its very own way. North Indian has their own way to celebrate Holi and distribute sweets and Namkins on this day. Holi in Himachal Pradesh is very much celebrated in the same manner as North Indians do.

One Day before Holi celebration, people light bonfires to represent the symbol of victory of good over evil. This is called as Holika.

Most interesting fact about Holi in Himachal Pradesh is that loads of people gather at the holy Shrine of Ponta Sahib in Sirmour district on the bank of Yamuna to play Holi with each other and to present their respect and love towards Yamuna Nadi. The Shrine in Himachal Pradesh has great respect and regards, and people even have great faith in it. Local himachally culture has chosen the auspicious day of Holi to seek the divine blessing.

Holi in Kullu is marked where people mix snow with colours to color others, it is being called as Ice-Holi. Regarding Snow-Holi, the World famous Slang Pass has witnessed the main Holi celebration in the country with heavy snowfall.

World's Highest Cricket Ground is in Chail


India is a nation that has largest cricket lovers. Each and every ball that is bowled irrespective of ups and downs of it, hit or lost, shot or caught, it leaves an impact on game watchers. India is not only a home of cricket lovers but also it has the world's highest cricket ground.



India has got some wonderful cricketers of all time. Cricket is something that has been enjoyed by every person sitting in front of that Idiot Box. It is game that energizes game watchers to cheer for players to perform well. It is also unbelievable that few of the fanatic fans worship the great achievers. Well, some cricket lovers do so!!!

Cricket Ground in Chail is named as Dharmashala, which is the highest ground in the world placed at a level of 2,144 m high above the sea level (somewhere above 7,000 Feet). Due to this reason, it has made its place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This play ground was made by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh in 1893. This cricket ground is surrounded with tall huge pine and deodar trees that give it an authentic and beautiful look. This is the place where Maharaja used to play cricket with his British friends. The ground is under the possession of Indian army at this point. Polo is also played on this ground.

In one of the corner of this ground, there is a historic tree on which the Military School has made a tree house that increase beauty of this place. Nowadays, it has become a tourist attraction in Chail.

Tourists can reach this place by air, by rail or by road. It is a picturesque hill station with a highest cricket ground.

Siddh Baba Ka Mandir in Chail – An Importance of Dream


Chail is one of the best tourist paradises in India that includes most of the interesting places to visit. Tourism in Chail includes a visit to the Maharaja Bhupinder Singh's Chail Palace, World's highest Cricket ground at an altitude of 2,250m, Siddh Baba Ka Mandir, Wild Sanctuary and the nearby picnic spots that has the capacity to attract anyone towards it.

The historical story behind building the temple says that the Maharaja selected this place to build his palace previously as his Summer Capital and the construction for the same got started in full swing when Siddh Baba appeared in Maharaja's dream and asked him to stop the construction of Palace. Siddh Baba said that he used to meditate on this place and it should not be used to reside or for any personal purpose. And after which Maharaja stopped the construction of his Palace and ordered to start the construction of temple of Siddh Baba, which is quite famous and tourist's attractive place at this time.

Siddh Baba Ka Mandir is being considered as a place of holy soul who has occupied that space in Chail; hence every tourist visits this place, bow their head here to seek the blessings of Siddh Baba. This temple not only makes it a religious place but also a place of tourist attraction. Among the local people of Chail, Siddh Baba ka Mandir has very importance, and even tourist from the different corners of this world respect this holy deity and his devotees.
